# Research

Spend time researching to unlock new blueprints, used for crafting new traits!

### 👉The Basics of Research

* **Research Overhaul:** Research is no longer tied to RNG. Each completed 12-hour research quest now grants you Research Points (RP), which you can use in the Research Shop to unlock the exact blueprints you want. You can run up to three research quests at a time, and if you keep at it, you can unlock all Season 1.5 blueprints in about a month.
* **Account-Based:** Blueprints are tied to your account and can’t be traded or sold.
* **Multi-Use:** Once unlocked, a blueprint can be used as many times as you like, unless you hit the global crafting limit for that blueprint.
* **No Characters Needed:** Characters aren’t required for research, so they can continue other adventures simultaneously.
* **Research Capacity:** Research uses its own capacity instead of action slots, meaning your regular actions remain unaffected.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://guide.derpbirds.io/derp-birds/adventures/seasons/season-01.5/research.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
