Welcome to the next generation of Derpetonia creatures - **Vamps**. This collection includes **7,500 unique vamp NFTs**, each belonging to one of **five age-based ranks**. Vamps are crafted to blend eerie charm with Derp’s signature quirky aesthetic, and introduce a new gameplay dimension.

### 🔥 How to Get a Vamp

You can acquire Vamps in two ways, both available via [**Adventures**](https://guide.derpbirds.io/derp-birds/adventures):

1. **Trade In (Burn)**: Exchange existing [legacy vampires](https://www.jpg.store/collection/vampireinvasion?tab=items) to receive new ones.
2. **Ritual Crafting**: Combine tomes and materials to craft vamps.

### ⚡ Power Score, Leeching, and Resting

* Every Vamp has **Power Score (PS)**.
* **No passive staking rewards** — PS only affects Aventures in Derpetonia gameplay.
* Vamps increase PS by **Leeching** using **Blood Essence (BE)**.
* Over time, PS **decays** but can be **restored by resting**.

### 🧬 Leeching

Vamps can leech **Power Score** by converting **Blood Essence (BE)** in Adventures.

* Each Vamp can only leech up to its **rank-based limit**.
* **Gear** (coming soon) can increase max PS, letting you leech more.
* **Cost:** Leeching consumes **DD** (Derp Dust).

**Example**:\
A Mature Vamp starts with 3,500 PS and can leech up to 3,500 more. If gear boosts Max PS to 9,000, you can leech an extra 2,000. Removing gear will reduce your current PS if above the new limit.

#### 🧛‍♀️ How to Leech

1. Go to **Adventures > Vamp Details**.
2. Click **Leech**.
3. View current/maximum PS and BE balance.
4. Choose how much BE to use.

### ⌛ Decay

All leeched PS decays over time — even below original PS, down to **0**.

#### 🔁 Decay Schedule

Decay happens **every 12 hours** based on the Vamps last rested time.

### 😴 Resting

Recover all decayed PS by **putting Vamps to rest**.

* **Takes 24 hours**.
* Vamp can't participate in Adventures while resting.
* If ownership changes during rest, progress resets.
* Use **multi-select** or **“Rest all”** for bulk actions.
